Bacterial virulence is stimulated by burns

P. aeruginosaResearchers led by Karl Perron studied the effect of exudates from burned people on bacterial survival and virulence. The results, published on April 27, 2016 in the journal mSphere of the American Society for Microbiology, demonstrate that P. aeruginosa has the capacity to multiply within these fluids and that some of its virulence factors are even overexpressed.
